Do You Want to Talk Positives or Negatives First? - Ian's Untitled Scene Show or Ian Hates Music

Welcome to either Ian’s Untitled Scene Show or Ian Hates Music! It all depends on what personality comes out during the show…

Dave and Ian(s) finally cleaned the dust from their mics and did a show! Is that a good thing? Not sure. You tell us. Either way, it’s already been recorded, and hopefully, you’re about to listen…maybe? The guys talk about great scene music and the not…so…great…

Lots of topics to get to, so why are you still reading this?

Just remember that this is a comedy/entertainment show about awesome music and everything is an opinion, so calm the fuck down! Just listen and have some fun with the original scene boys! Wait, is that even a good nickname? Highly doubtful. Fuck. Stop reading and listen! (I used this line before but it still works)

P.S. - You’ll hear some weird mic sounds every once in a while. We ain’t perfect anymore!

Welcome to a brand new episode of Ian’s Untitled Scene Show! In this episode, my special guests are Pao and Peter from Kaonashi!

This show has been a long time coming, and it’s really perfect timing as Kaonashi recently released their first, full-length album ‘Dear Lemon House, You Ruined Me: Senior Year’ through Unbeaten/Equal Vision Records! I know I sometimes say on the show that we dive deep into an album, but seriously, trust me when I say, we go deep into Dear Lemon House and even talk storyline theories! Plus, Peter and Pao are just a lot of fun to talk to, so we also get into some things you may have forgotten…

Another great tease! You’re going to have to listen now!

Note: This episode was recorded using Zoom, so there are some sound issues from time to time. It happens sometimes. Just making you aware in case you’re confused.

Take The Fall - Tyler Frey - Ian's Untitled Scene Show

TTF.jpg

Welcome to a brand new episode of Ian’s Untitled Scene Show! In this episode, I feature returning long-time friend of the show Tyler Frey of Take The Fall!

It’s been a very long time since I’ve had a chance to speak with Tyler on the show. Tyler was on one of the original iterations of this show, and it was a lot of fun then, and it’s a lot of fun now. Tyler talks about the EP ‘Party With A Purpose’ that Take The Fall released last year during quarantine. He fills in the gaps of the band’s history, we talk about the scene, and we get into some fun movie talk!

It’s always great catching up with Tyler, even when we disagree on a movie, haha. Everyone doesn’t have to agree all the time to have a fun conversation! Remember that.

Note: I was just getting over being sick and my pop-filter had issues, so you might hear some plosives, etc. Nothing is perfect. Also, we joke a lot on this show, so be prepared and just enjoy yourselves, haha. On that note, Ian Hates makes an appearance as well…

SLAVES.jpg

Welcome to a brand new episode of Ian’s Untitled Scene Show! In this episode, I feature returning friends of a past show, Colin Vieira and Matt McAndrew of Slaves!

At the time of this recording, actually just hours before, the guys had just released a new music video for the single, ‘Like I Do’, AND made a huge announcement that after the release of their new album, ‘To Better Days’ (out August 7th through SBG Records), they’d be changing their band name from ‘Slaves’ to a new name that would be announced at a later date. We talk in-depth about all of this news, the album ‘To Better Days’, and so much more!

Also, Liverpool FC won the Premier League title a mere couple of hours before this recording as well, and since I’m a huge LFC fan, I figure it would only be right to “warn” you, hahaha.

Crystal Lake - Ryo Kinoshita - Ian Hates Music #229

Crystal Lake - Ryo Kinoshita - Ian Hates Music #229

Now I get to say something I never thought I’d get to say, Ryo Kinoshita, the lead vocalist for Japanese metal band Crystal Lake, is the featured guest on this episode of Ian Hates Conversations: Music Edition!

Ryo and Crystal Lake are finishing up their first tour in America before heading back overseas for more touring. They also released their brand new album ‘Helix’ through SharpTone Records recently with a lot of acclaim and praise. Rightfully so, it’s a favorite of Ian’s.

Ryo takes time out to be on Ian Hates Conversations before another live show to talk about touring, Helix, and more, so check it out!

You may not know this, but English is not Ryo’s first language, so it was very cool for Ian to catch up with him on the phone, though not being able to see each other while talking does make it even more impressive that Ryo was able to join the show. If you know Ian’s past shows, you’ll know he changed his cadence a bit and slowed down his speaking speed to make things easier.

Make sure to support Ryo and Crystal Lake by following the links below:

Huge thanks to Ryo for taking time out of his extremely busy touring schedule to come on Ian Hates Conversations: Music Edition. Hopefully Crystal Lake will return to the US for more touring in the future. Make sure you check them out, pick up a copy of ‘Helix’, and continue the support!

The Plot In You - Landon Tewers - Ian Hates Music #226

The Plot In You - Landon Tewers - Ian Hates Music #226

It’s a very cool episode of Ian Hates Conversations: Music Edition as Landon Tewers joins Ian in the Ian Hates “Studio”! (There’s a lot of ‘Ian’ in that sentence and I apologize).

At the time of this recording, Landon is finishing up his solo tour co-headlining with Ghost Atlas. If you’re not familiar with Landon Tewers, he has his solo work, projects like Ai640, writing and producing bands, AND he’s the lead vocalist of The Plot In You. Oh yeah, he’s also one of the most talented and versatile vocalists out there!

Let’s not give too much away in the description of the episode though. Ian and Landon talk in person about everything going on in Landon’s life, new tours, new music, and possible plans for the future.

Ian will normally remove background and strange noises from conversation episodes, but it didn’t feel necessary for this since it’s just two people face to face in the same room. Hope you enjoy!

Doyle - Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein - Ian Hates Music #216

Doyle - Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein - Ian Hates Music #216

It’s 2019 and what better way to start the year than with an absolute legend in the business? On this episode of Ian Hates Conversations: Music Edition, Ian welcomes the great Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein of the band Doyle to the show!

It’s been quite a year for Doyle as he’s currently finishing up a 75 date leg of the ‘AS WE DIE Abomination Tour’, and that’s only part of the full tour! In 2013, Doyle put out their debut album ‘Abominator’ and recently in 2017, Doyle put out their sophomore album ‘Doyle II: As We Die’. Since then, Doyle has been touring nonstop.

Ian got the opportunity to catch up with the ex-Misfits legendary guitarist on a conference number before a recent show, so it’s shorter than a “normal” Ian Hates interview, but Doyle opens up to Ian about being on tour, the pitfalls of the music industry and streaming services, American concert-goers not living up to the hype, and a lot more!

Just like with his music, Doyle doesn’t hold back and you need to hear what he has to say. If you’re a Misfits fan and/or a horror metal/horror punk fan and you don’t know the band Doyle, get on it because you’re missing out!

Getting to speak, even for a short while, with someone like Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein is something Ian won’t soon forget. He doesn’t throw the word “legend” around lightly and that’s what Doyle is, a legend.

Make sure to support Doyle by following the links below:

Doyle:

Huge thanks to Doyle for taking time out of his busy schedule to come on the show. He’s extremely busy on the massive ‘AS WE DIE World Abomination Tour’, so make sure you look up his dates and go support him live! Show Doyle that Americans can bring it at live shows and buy some merch while you’re at it!

Ian catches Trevor on the road to their next stop in St. Louis and Trevor fills him in on the new album, what it’s like being around for 20 years, and possible plans for the future! Don’t blame Ian for getting tongue-tied or tripping over himself, he’s talking to metalcore royalty here.
