It (Part 1) - Ian Hates Movies #74

This is not only Part 1 of the new IT movie in 2017 (Part 2 coming in 2019), it's also Part 1 for Ian Hates Movies talking Stephen King's IT! In th episode, Ian and Kelly talk about IT and the miniseries from the 90's!    

If you haven't seen IT yet, I'd be surprised. It killed (like that?) box office expectations and murdered (get it?) a bunch of box office records. Ian and Kelly dive deep into the new movie and the made for TV miniseries. There will be no book spoilers in this episode! Keep that in mind.

Like I mentioned before this is Part 1 because there's going to be another all-new Ian Hates Movies on IT with Grey Sorenson of the band Charlatan for Part 2! In this episode, Ian and Grey will talk the new movie and the miniseries compared to the book! Stay tuned for Part 2!

Netflix has gone and made one of Ian's favorite animes into an English movie...perfect time for Kelly to return to Ian Hates Movies right???  

There's a lot of "hate" going around for this reboot/remake/whatever you want to call it. Was this the right platform for Death Note? Is it the same story? Gremlins - Ian Hates Movies #51

No intro today, just read one of the greatest monologues in cinema history that takes place in the 1984 "family" movie Gremlins!

"The worst thing that ever happened to me was on Christmas. Oh, God. It was so horrible. It was Christmas Eve. I was 9 years old. Me and Mom were decorating the tree, waiting for Dad to come home from work. A couple hours went by. Dad wasn't home. So Mom called the office. No answer. Christmas Day came and went, and still nothing. So the police began a search. Four or five days went by. Neither one of us could eat or sleep. Everything was falling apart. It was snowing outside. The house was freezing, so I went to try to light up the fire. That's when I noticed the smell. The firemen came and broke through the chimney top. And me and Mom were expecting them to pull out a dead cat or a bird. And instead they pulled out my father. He was dressed in a Santa Claus suit. He'd been climbing down the chimney... his arms loaded with presents. He was gonna surprise us. He slipped and broke his neck. He died instantly. And that's how I found out there was no Santa Claus."

What's your favorite scary podcast...

Ian is extremely excited for this volume of Ian Hates Movies! It's the second most excited he could possibly be because Scream (1996) is his second favorite movie of all time! This could easily have been a 10 hour show, but I'm sorry to say that Ian and Kelly cut it way down so you can digest everything and who knows, maybe they'll do a Part 2 when they do Scream 4! They probably will actually, haha.

I Know What You Did Last Summer (1+2) - Ian Hates Movies #42

Really, there are too many hack jokes that go along with the title 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' that there's no point to rehash them here. All you need to know (get it...) is that Kelly is back and this week it's a two-for-one with 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' and "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer'. In 1997 and 1998, these two films won longest title awards...they certainly weren't winning anything else beside worst commercial for Gorton's Fish-sticks! Bu dum ch! These films have so much to make fun of that Ian and Kelly don't even comment on Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar getting together in real life! Just listen, you'll like it!
